I feel inspired to share a layout today. It occurred to me today that I am worried about "over-sharing" my creative endeavors, which is pretty dumb considering I started this blog so I would have a "safe" place for sharing as much of my artsy stuff as I wanted without feeling self-conscious about over-sharing. Can you tell I have been over-thinking??? Yeah, I need to just do it, to bring it, to give new meaning to "going post-all".
On Facebook there has been a trend, "Throwback Thursdays" where people post old photos of themselves. Do you think I could get "Throw Up Thursdays" to catch on? I kind of like the name. Those participating could do a weekly post with a barf of photos they just didn't get around to posting. Or maybe it could be "Slacker Saturdays".
Anyway, here is the layout I want to show:
Imaginesce "Good Dog" paper; Balzer Designs for The Crafters Workshop "Mini Layered Stars" Stencil; Americana acrylic craft paints; Prima Comfort Craft Distressing Tool |
I love how the scratching on the photo turned out. This technique was inspired by the amazing Finnabair through Nathalie Kalbach's Creative JumpStart Summit 2013. (I'm sorry if you missed it. I will give you a heads up for next year, assuming she will put together this month of January awesomeness for 2014.)
Here is a link to Finn's video from last year's Creative JumpStart: Inspiration
In retrospect I was also inspired by Cocoa Daisy's February sketch challenge. It wasn't until I stacked the journaling in between my title and the offset photo that I realized I was playing along! Hooray for my sub-conscious! You can check out the sketch and links to the other entries here.
